I wanted to share with my students something I worked on today - watercolor egg paintings. I never studied watercolor, so have never really felt comfortable with it, but my goal was to paint a few simple Easter cards. Once I started, I realized it was much more challenging than I thought. I wanted to make the eggs appear realistic, so it took lots of trial and error, of layering and blending washes to create a 3D egg. I think I did a pretty good job, but I still need practice.

So, no matter how comfortable or uncomfortable you are with your art skills, it's OK to try something new!
